There are much worse things that could have happened in the desert on Sunday than the Patriots loss, according to this story that's not getting a lot of attention.
Thankfully, the man came to his senses and turned himself in.

I am a long time Red Sox and Patriots fan living in Brunswick, MD on the edge of West Virginia...a long way from my days in the shadows of Fenway Park. Welcome to my weekly rants and raves about those people who get paid millions to play the games we love to watch, who are adored for their athletic prowess. Okay, now I'm depressed. All joking aside, I accept freelance assignments and can be reached through my blog. Please excuse the errors here as most of my blogging is off the cuff.

I heard this while sitting in the airport this week. Are we not even safe from our own kind? Makes me not want to go t big sporting events.
Somehow the whole thing just seems underreported to me. It's not the first time I've heard of a person or people (at least rumored to be) planning an attack on a big sporting event, but it might be the first time that I heard about someone concretely coming forward and turning himself in.
